Teeth gems are made from 100% genuine Swarovski crystals. For gold gems, normal K Gold plated materials are used.
Proper sanitation and safety is the highest importance, and every client will be serviced using single-use disposable items, or items that have been properly cleaned and disinfected.
Tooth Gems
What are Tooth Gems?
How long do they last? How long is the appointment?
Tooth gems can last 3-24 months with proper care. Make sure to brush your teeth as normal and try to be conscious not to eat any excessively hard foods, or at least not bite on the side you have the gems on.
Appointments range form 15 to 30 minutes
Am I a good candidate?
Tooth gem candidates must not have Braces or use Invisalign, nor can they have Veneers or fake teeth.
RESTRICTIONS & CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Dry Mouth, High Sugar Diet, Poor Dental Hygiene, Severe and persistent throbbing toothache that can radiate to the jawbone or neck or ear, Sensitivity to hot and cold temperatures, Sensitivity to the pressure of chewing or biting, Swelling in your face or cheek, Tender, swollen lymph nodes under your jaw or in your neck, Sudden rush of foul-smelling and foul-tasting, salty fluid in your mouth and pain relief, Difficulty breathing or swallowing, Fever, Headache, Cold/Flu, COVID19 Symptoms, Illness, etc…
Does it harm my tooth/hurt and is it safe? Can I still brush my teeth normally?
This service is minimally invasive and painless. The procedure is similar to placing an orthodontist bracket on a tooth, and does not use any drills, or toxic adhesives. The bonder used is non-toxic dental-grade adhesive used for applying braces.
The presence of the tooth jewelry will not make any difference regarding dental hygiene. However, it is recommended not to use an electric toothbrush & wait 12-24 hours before brushing your teeth after your appointment.
How do I prepare before for my appointment?
- Do NOT eat or drink 1 hour before your appointment for best results
- Please brush and floss your teeth before your appointment
What do I do after my appointment?
- Do NOT eat or drink for 2 hours after your appointment.
- Wait at least 12-24 hours before brushing your tooth gem to avoid premature loss of the gem. Brushing your teeth too soon will be abrasive on the teeth and gums.
- If sensitivity occurs, it should diminish within 24 hours.
- Avoid eating/drinking foods that stain such as sodas, colored beverages, red sauces, and berries.
- Avoid using electric toothbrushes if possible
Can I feel the gem on my tooth?
The jewels are only 0.4mm or 0.9mm thick and 1.8mm to 3mm in diameter. Initially, something on your tooth will feel different, but a few days after the application, you will get used to the new feeling.
Can you or your client still receive routine teeth cleanings/whitening?
Yes. If you are concerned about any routine checkups with your orthodontist, do this 1 week before your appointment.
You can still have teeth whitening done, but make sure you are careful using the mouth piece or tools needed to properly complete the treatment. If it’s an at home teeth whitening kit, there should be no issues having this done, but make sure to clean properly before & after.
How does it come off? What if I swallow it?!
The gem are tiny glass crystals or gold that fall off when the adhesive wears down over time. They have no sharp edges and will come out “the natural way” if swallowed.
Please go to the dentist to have a tooth gem removed. If you need to remove the at home, they can be removed with traditional tweezers or dental floss.
